Clinical Manager, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The Clinical Manager will, together with the Operations and Medical Directors, manage and oversee the day-to-day functioning of the 16 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the Neonatal Transport Team (NNTT) and the Critical Care Respiratory Therapists. S/he is responsible for the implementation of unit specific strategic objectives, taking an evidence-based approach that supports CHEO directions, as well as the ongoing planning, delivery and evaluation of neonatal services. The successful candidate will liaise and collaborate with the Clinical Educator and other interdisciplinary team members as they demonstrate a commitment to a family-centered approach to care and a culture of continuous learning and professional development. The Manager will be involved in continuous quality improvement activities utilizing skills and tools like Lean methodologies to analyze internal processes within unit operations and help to build capacity at CHEO. S/he will provide overall human resources leadership through the recruitment and scheduling of staff, performance management, as well as assess and manage the staff learning needs.

We are looking for a highly talented, results oriented, and passionate nurse leader with strong analytical, leadership and communication skills. Possessing superior relationship–building abilities, the successful candidate will hold a BScN, combined with 5 years progressive experience leading and coaching teams through continuous improvement and organizational development. Clinical experience in neonatal extensive care, as well as patient transport would be definite assets, as would any knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, and experience with patient statistics/analytics.
