Sledge Hockey Ontario athletes to host game with OCTC School children

OTTAWA, February 10, 2014 – Members of Sledge Hockey Ontario team will join children from the School of the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre for a fun-filled game to showcase sledge hockey as a growing sport in Ontario for children with disabilities.

 

In the spirit of the 2014 Paralympics, you are invited to witness athletes introducing children, and their families, to sledge hockey. The OCTC School works in partnership with Sledge Hockey Ontario to introduce children to the sport as a way to develop their physical and social capabilities as well as sportsmanship. WHAT: Sledge hockey game

WHEN: Thursday, February 13, 2014, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

WHERE: Jim Durrell Recreation Complex, 1265 Walkley Road, Ottawa

WHO: Sledge Hockey Ontario athletes and 16 OCTC School children with families and OCTC staff and volunteers

Spokespersons from Sledge Hockey Ontario will be on hand to answer questions after the game. A few children and their parents as well as OCTC staff organizing the event will also be available to meet with reporters.
